I, U, and Thy Law

I….Went away and distanced myself from you
…..Took away all thy precious gifts with greed
…..Gave all that to the unworthy
…..Used them to satisfy my lustful desires
…..Lost all the wealth you gave me
…..Lost my health
…..Lost my everything and my peace
…..Brought shame to thee
………………………………………………….Kept myself away from home due to sin
…………………………………………………….Remembered my happy home and repented
………………………………………………….I, the shameless, finally decided to return

U….My father awaited my return
……Came out from that heavenly home to wait for me
……Came down to meet me while I was yet far away
……Kissed this lost one while I was still a sinner
……Washed me thoroughly
……Gave me a spotless robe
……Gave me a glorious ring
……Arranged a dinner for me while others disliked me
……You received me back into your home

AND THY LAW

……If not for thy LOVE towards me – thy lost child, where would I be!
……If I had not returned home to abide by thy laws of love, where would I be!

……It is not the law of “eye for eye” and “tooth for tooth”
……Not the law of “blood for blood”
……But  the law of forgiveness,

……Which washed my sins, in the precious blood of Jesus
……And I am born again to be thy child.

And yes “If your law had not been my delight, I would surely have perished in my Affliction.” (Psalm 119:92 NIV)
