We all, as a group, left in a hurry,
All the ten of us making merry,
Walk and walk, we had talk and talk,
Enroute to meet the bridegroom’s folks.
They said wait, and you can rest here,
Be ready, the time for coming is near,
When the groom’s trumpet you hear,
Get up to welcome, the boy so dear.
Lamps went out, so dark is the night,
Must fill oil for the lamps to be lit,
Lo! the noise of the groom’s party shouting,
“Join the party, the bridegroom is coming!”
Our oil jars were handy for us, the five,
Other five wanted their lamps to revive,
We lit our lamps and joined the party,
They went to buy oil from a shoppe.
While the party went on full swing,
The five returned, He heard them knocking,
And told them: “Go, for I know you not”
So, be ye ready, wait with oil in your pot.
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight” (Psalm 19 :14)
