Barrenness can be terrible!
The Bible says that Leah was hatred because she was barren.
It may be difficult to understand how barrenness can lead to hatred. Yet many challenges may be caused by barrenness. This is true especially in the light of the fact that the cause and effect here do not have any logical connection.
Barrenness could be a sign of a curse.
The Blessing of God fights barrenness.
Deuteronomy 7:14 says “Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.”
FRUITFUL: Fruitfulness comes from being in a fruitful situation.
If the land is unfruitful, any good quality seed or any amount of seed will not yield fruit. There is a barren land like a desert. To be fruitful in life, move to a fruitful place.
This may or may not be a physical location. It could also be a shift in the spiritual positioning.
The Bible talks about fruitful land.
Isaiah 5: 1 says, “… My well beloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:”
If we seek God’s help, He will plant us in a fruitful hill. Whatever we do shall prosper.
The Bible talks about fruitful seasons.
“… and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, …” Acts 14: 17
Understanding the seasons to capitalize on Gods blessing and productivity comes by listening to the prompting of the Holy Spirit and being sensitized to it.
Millets, Paddy, Maize, Pulses, Groundnut, etc., known as the summer crops are usually sown with the beginning of the first rains in July.
Wheat, Barley, Mustard, etc. are sown in October last and harvested in March or April every year. Crop such as Muskmelon, Watermelon, Bitter Gourd, etc is grown during March to June.
Even technocrats do not find it difficult to understand the seasons of fruitfulness.
Yet we do not learn from these principles of nature. We sometimes plant the right seed in the right place during the wrong season!
Yet a person could be unfruitful in a fruitful land and in a fruitful season!
Jesus talks about the person who is choked by things of contradicting nature.
Jesus clearly speaks of a double-minded person, unstable in all his ways.
Listening to the word that can give abundant life and eternal life, yet distracted by the things of this world.
“And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful” Mark 4: 19
How can we be in a fruitful Land?
When the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, the wilderness shall be a fruitful field. Isaiah 32: 15
A simple solution
Tarry for the outpouring of the Spirit. It is a promise that in the last days, God will pour out His Spirit upon all flesh.
And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land. Genesis 26: 22
When we recognize the place where God has made room for us without strife, we are positioned to be fruitful. Sometimes we are so engaged in needless clash of words, ideas, egos, and much more that we miss the fruitful land. Remove from strife. Identify the place of peace and rest. There work hard. You shall be fruitful there.
When God has respect unto us, he makes us fruitful and multiples us.
For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you. Leviticus 26:9
God is no respecter of persons. The Bible teaches that God’s respect for man is mostly connected to man’s humility and to His covenants with man.
Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: … Psalms 138: 6
And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them. Exodus 2: 24, 25
NOW THE CHALLENGE!
The challenge with the fruitful land and season is seldom noticed.
Understand and identify the fruitful land and season.
Sow good seeds for abundant fruitfulness.
Any seed sown in fruitful land is multiplied – Good or Bad, it is multiplied!
Barrenness can be terrible, but multiplied evil seeds can be still worse.
Sow good seeds bountifully.
